Boxes and Supercars!

Thursday 10th March saw a welcome return of Opportunities Doncaster – a great careers event for students in the town.

As event sponsors and part of the Doncaster Promise – a programme that businesses join to encourage young talent in the town – our Doncaster team created an engaging stand to showcase manufacturing and the packaging industry and the career opportunities within the local business and the wider Logson Group.

A temporary change of the logo to Boxes and Supercars, a full-size corrugated Lamborghini, and a real-life McLaren 720S supercar saw students (and their teachers!) flock to the stand to take part in the ‘Pitstop Challenge’. A challenge to change all four wheels on the corrugated car, with the fastest four from the day winning a £25 Vue Cinema voucher.

Derek Short, Production Manager, Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) commented; “What an amazing achievement by the team to design, manufacture and assemble a full-size Lamborghini to showcase how versatile corrugated is as a packaging material. It was a great event to be part of and our thanks go to colleagues at Cardboard Box Company, Boxes and Packaging (Merseyside) and (Manchester) and students from Doncaster UTC who helped assemble the car during the last week.”
