Q1 investments at Bristol and Merseyside
22 Mar 2022
2022 has much planned in terms of investment at sites across the UK, and it has started with machinery investments at both Bristol and Merseyside.
Both have taken delivery of an Eterna 1620SA die cutter, which is capable of processing up to 5,000 corrugated sheets per hour. The Eterna, manufactured by the industry leading Bobst Group – a stalwart in many corrugated packaging plants – will see capacity increased at both sites as the demand for corrugated continues.
Installed by M&K Trading, operators received full training once the machines were installed and commissioned. Capable of handling a maximum sheet size of 1180mm x 1600mm it will bring added flexibility to the manufacturing capabilities at both sites.
“Die cutters form part of the machine portfolios at all our sites and the arrival of the latest two complement Eterna’s currently at Leicester and Boxshop, “said Andy Clark, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Bristol). “The arrival of our new machines has allowed us to increase capacity and will support us in the delivery of work to our customers with improved efficiencies, not just in production capabilities but also shorter setting times. Both teams have been hugely supportive during the transition period, embraced training, and are now looking forward to working on a machine that is technologically advanced when compared with the ones that they have replaced.”
