Yorkshire MD Continues Corrugated Career Development

Stacey Austin, who has been the Managing Director at Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) for the last 10 years, has been promoted to Regional Managing Director which will see him have responsibility for the strategic direction, growth and profitability of the groups Merseyside, Manchester and Doncaster sites.

Situated along the M62 corridor and known as the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ the three sites are well established. Stacey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role having over 25 years industry experience.

A proud Yorkshire man, he has enjoyed all his career at the same site starting as a sample maker and designer and spending time as estimator, sales representative and Quality Manager until he received his first directorship at the age of 26, as Works Director of the then, Doncaster Packaging.

During his time as MD at Doncaster he and his team have grown the business from £5m to a £10m turnover with a clear growth plan to deliver £12m by 2020. He has also been President of the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and a manufacturing champion within the Doncaster business community.

This newly created role will ensure the Northern sites continue to prosper and will benefit from a cohesive strategic approach to deliver anticipated growth from a current £25m turnover to £30m by 2020.

Stacey commented; “I am delighted to have been promoted to this new position and I am very much looking forward to the change in role and the challenges that it will bring. The teams at Merseyside, Manchester and Doncaster are well established businesses and I look forward to supporting their performance and growth into the future, making the B&P Northern Powerhouse even more successful.”

Away from the corrugated packaging industry Stacey enjoys road and mountain biking, tending his own corner of England’s green and pleasant land and spending quality time with friends and family.
