UK Wine Industry Supported by our Packaging

16 Jan 2018

2018 is set to be another significant year for the UK Wine Industry and, whilst it may seem that half the nation has embarked on ‘Dry January’, our Oxford site won’t be giving up wine for the foreseeable future as it announces new opportunities for the coming year.

Already one of the preferred packaging partners to vineyards, craft beer and cider makers and distilleries across the South of England, the team will be part of a bespoke wine packaging evening at the renowned Rathfinny Wine Estate in East Sussex. It will give them the opportunity to showcase the innovative designs and capabilities which support myriad requirements and demands from the wine and drinks sector including display gift packaging, transit packaging and other solutions to protect, transport and raise brand awareness and visibility through creative solutions.

In addition, Boxes and Packaging (Oxford) has become a patron of the Wines of Great Britain (a merger of United Kingdom Vineyard Association and English Wine Producers).

“The UK Wine Industry continues to prosper and in 2017 it was reported that there had been a 13% increase in the number of producers taking the number from 352 in 2015 to 397 currently,” said Jonathan Lewis Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Oxford). “This is one of our areas of expertise and it was important that we continue to work with wine producers and support this industry as consumers continue to enjoy and demand local, niche products rather than global brands which have dominated the market in recent years.”

Recent figures explained that independent English wine producers saw turnover reach a record £132m last year – a 16% increase from 2015 – and with growth anticipated to continue in the coming years, the Oxford team look forward to supporting one of the UK’s newest and most prosperous industry sectors.
