B&P design competition winners announced

Springtime this year saw the unveiling of our 2022 internal B&P Design Awards where each of our designers, located at sites across the UK, were invited to submit at least one solution that had something a little bit different about it.

This could have been the removal of non-recyclable materials from an existing packaging stream, cost or material saving efficiencies through re-design, or an innovative design that offered unrivalled product protection.

Almost 25 entries gave our judges, Gareth Stell, Group Sales Director Logson Group; Gavin Richardson, CEO Boxes and Packaging and Stacey Austin, Northern Regional Managing Director, plenty to consider and making the decision proved as challenging as ever.

However, our winners this year were Richard Oliver from our Birmingham site for a unique ecommerce solution for a cycle and also Adam Chorlton from our Doncaster site for a Shower tray solution that removed EPS from the current offering.

Three designers were also Highly Commended for their designs namely Ian Pierce from Manchester, Vipul Patel from Leicester, and Steve Ward from Doncaster.

Our winners and those that were Highly Commended all saw their efforts rewarded with prizes.

Gavin Richardson commented; “Design is the absolute cornerstone of how we provide such innovative packaging solutions for our customers and our UK wide design team has some of the best corrugated design ability and flair. Their knowledge of the material and how it performs, how it can be best utilised and how it can support a wide range of industries and the requirements they need to meet means our customers are in good hands when it comes to finding the best sustainable and recyclable packaging solution available.

Several designs have also been entered into the UK Packaging Awards for 2022.
