Our Bristol site has become the first Logson Group manufacturing site to achieve BRC accredited status for direct food contact.

At its most recent BRC audit, the first to the new Issue 7 standard for which audits began on 28th April 2025, the Bristol team achieved Grade A and were just 6 minor non-conformances away from AA grade, an amazing achievement considering it was the first time being audited for direct food contact.

Andy Clarke, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Bristol) commented; “We are very proud to have received this accreditation, and my thanks go the entire team but especially Brandon Mitchell, our Technical Systems Officer who has been instrumental in making this project happen so successfully.”

The Bristol team is now able to support customers with their direct food contact packaging having implemented a strict set of rigorous systems at all production points across the factory. Adhering to all requirements outlined by BRC this has included enhanced PPE such as hair and beard nets, cleaning requirements before direct food contact products are run on each machine, specialised inks and glues, and specific testing procedures.

“This certification will allow us to expand our customer base in this area and as tried and tested producers of direct contact food packaging we are now pleased to have the certification to back up our packaging knowledge.”
