Leicester team member completes charity Skydive

08 May 2019

As part of our annual charity challenge a member of the Boxes and Packaging team at Leicester chose to hurl herself out of a plane on a chilly May morning, all to raise money for a local charity.

Georgina Spencer-Lockwood undertook the Skydive at Sibson Airfield near Peterborough for LOROS, a local charity who provide care for more than 2,500 people each year across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

“Over the last four years, I have tried to do something to raise funds for LOROS as they provided end of life care for a very good friend of mine,” said Georgina. “Being able to visit her and spend time with her at the hospice made a difficult situation a little easier to bear and since then they have also provided care and support at home for two of my relatives.”

“This was an amazing, exhilarating experience and there was a wonderful camaraderie amongst us all,” said Georgina. “I am so proud to have been able to help them once again and thank all my friends, family and work colleagues who have given so generously.”

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and ability to pay.

As a result of her Skydive Georgina raised in excess of £500 which has been matched by the company.
