For those of you that read our recent blog ‘Bonnets and Bumpers’ you will know that we are a major player when it comes to supplying all aspects of the UK automotive industry.
Currently, we provide packaging solutions for bonnets and bumpers of course, but also many vehicle components, spare parts, auxiliary industry related products and are involved in the heavy duty agricultural market too, helping our partners to ship vehicle and machinery parts across the globe.
One particularly pertinent task we tackled, given the plastic battle that continues, was to remove the use of a plastic blister pack that protected high value motorcycle parts from damage during transit. The customer was keen to secure a UK supplier for its entire packaging range and this was pivotal to the successful securing of the account.
“Our experience in this sector and our in-depth knowledge of corrugated material and its capabilities allowed us to fulfil all objectives of the brief – removing plastic, reducing product damage that had been experienced during transit and to incorporate a new brand identity into the pack,” said Andy Clarke Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Bristol). “As a result of our innovative approach, the customer chose to move all their packaging requirements from the Far East to the UK and chose us as their preferred supplier.”
The unique design ensured that just one box was required to facilitate the packing of the entire size range of callipers, giving our customer much more flexibility whilst elevating brand identity and restoring credibility by ensuring products were arriving intact and without damage.
Our customer commented; “Working with Boxes and Packaging, in what for us was a new and ‘untested’ supplier, was a delightful experience…we can confidently say that we have found the packaging supplier that we were looking for.”
Andy concluded; “Not only did the amount of damaged product be reduced by 99.9% but the packaging solution is now environmentally friendly and fully recyclable. And, with a tamper evident mechanism incorporated into the design, we challenged the parameters of the original brief to create a solution that exceeded their expectations.”
