Colleagues step up for Walk All Over Cancer challenge

14 Apr 2023

During March, 25 colleagues from Boxes and Packaging, Red Rose Packaging, and Boxshop took part in the annual Walk All Over Cancer Challenge; to walk 10,000 steps each day during the month.

This was the third year running that we had taken part, and we are delighted to announce that we have raised over £5000 which will be charity matched by our parent company, taking our cumulative total for the three years to almost £40,000.

Congratulations to everyone who took part!

A special mention should go to Tony Hatton from B&P (Doncaster) who walked between the Doncaster site and the Distribution centre at Thorne; a total of just under 20 miles. Similarly, Shaun Mather B&P (Manchester) walked, with colleagues, from Bredbury to Bolton a distance of just over 20 miles. Shaun also raised the most money individually during the challenge.

The most steps taken during the month was achieved by Mike Lewis from B&P (Swindon) who walked an average of 20 583 steps per day, with Swindon colleagues Gavin Taylor averaging 17,738 steps per day and David Ashley averaging, 17,078 steps per day.

Stacey Austin, Regional Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging commented; “Thanks to all our colleagues who gave up their time and put so much effort into taking on the challenge for such a fantastic charity. Roll on 2024!”
