Swindon team hosts MP and CPI visit

Our Boxes and Packaging (Swindon) team were pleased to welcome Heidi Alexander MP, Swindon South (Labour) and Secretary of State for Transport and Dimitra Rappou, Executive Director, Sustainable Products, Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) to site recently to take part in discussions around the packaging sector’s contribution to innovation, sustainability, and economic growth in the UK.
During their visit they enjoyed a tour of the site, meeting with our team and chatting about the diverse range of UK businesses they work with designing, developing and manufacturing packaging solutions to support a wide range of industry sectors and help to transport products through all facets of the supply chain, both in the UK and across the globe.
Josh Stell, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Swindon) commented; “We were very pleased to welcome Heidi and Dimitra to our manufacturing facility and share with them our production processes, the wider corrugated industry and Logson Group and share how our industry plays its part in UK economic growth and how we invest in our local community.”
Dimitra Rappou added; “Today, it was a pleasure to represent CPI during the visit of Heidi Alexander MP to Boxes and Packaging in Swindon. The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the vital role our members play in driving innovation, advancing sustainability, and supporting economic growth within the UK packaging sector.
“Visits like this are a valuable opportunity to highlight both the strengths of UK manufacturing and the challenges we must tackle together.”
CPI is the leading trade association representing the UK’s Paper-based Industries, with around 80 member companies based across over 250 sites. The industry contributes £15bn to the UK economy as well as supporting over 115,000 jobs.
