Doncaster team win at UK Packaging Awards

11 Oct 2024

On Thursday 10th October the UK Packaging Awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and we are delighted to share that our Doncaster team won ‘Best International Pack’ category.

Shortlisted amongst esteemed competition, including well-known high street brands such as Heinz, Loctite and Otrivine, the team’s Export pack for a Hi-Tech Cooker Hob claimed the 2024 title.

The pack consisted of a base tray, un-joined two-piece sleeve (for ease of pack assembly), top cap, inner end pieces with triangular sections (additional strength for stacking support), along with a base platform to suspend the product off the floor of the pack with end support fittings. The top of the pack has a divider set to house a cooker knob pack, end panels, and other accessories.

The pack has successfully been integrated into the assembly line of the customer and has navigated the supply chain via road, sea and air without any issues or product damage.

Speaking of the award win Regional Managing Director, Stacey Austin commented; “This is a great achievement for our Doncaster team and a special mention should go to Adam Chorlton, Designer and Steve Ward, Supply Chain Designer who worked together to interpret the customer brief and exceed their expectations with this design.

“Their knowledge of corrugated, supply chain, packing lines and detailed understanding of how these elements work together to create innovative packaging solutions highlights why our Doncaster team are well-respected in this field.”

In addition, Board24 won Investment Project of the Year for its £25m Eurocentral project, Challenge Packaging were Highly Commented in Supply Chain Solution of the Year and Boxes and Packaging (Manchester) Boxes and Packaging (Swindon) and Jardin Corrugated were all shortlisted too.

Gavin Richardson, CEO, Boxes and Packaging added; “We were very pleased to be so well represented at this year’s UK Packaging Awards and to win two categories for the Logson Group was superb.

“Our warmest congratulations to all winners and everyone who made the shortlist highlighting how innovative our industry is.”
