Our sites and why we’re UK Packaging Company of the Year
04 May 2023
October of last year, saw Boxes and Packaging named as UK Packaging Company of the Year.
With ten sites located across the UK it’s not only the size of our business that makes us the preferred supplier to so many UK businesses it’s also the breadth of our capabilities.
Each of our sites is equipped with a different machinery portfolio, however there are some common points that enable superb group interaction and support to fulfil customer requirements.
Sites across the UK
In Scotland, we have Boxes and Packaging (Dumbarton) and Boxshop which is part of the Boxes and Packaging group of companies. Together, they are a driving force in the manufacturing of corrugated packaging solutions in Scotland. A recent £3.5m investment has seen it positioned as one of the leading corrugated packaging producers in the country.
In the North we have a single site in Merseyside, a dual site operation in Manchester and a dual site operation in Doncaster. Combined, they have a significant operating capacity that includes a range of heavy duty industrial, manufacturing, automotive, F&B and household customers within its portfolio.
The Midlands, sees our Birmingham site and our Leicester site strategically placed to design and manufacture solutions for the industries that operate in the East and West Midlands.
Moving south, we have our Bristol site in the West and our Swindon and Oxford sites in the central Southern belt. Swindon was the originally Boxes and Packaging site, the first acquisition and the one that gave the group its name. Oxford is known for being a key supplier to the UK Wine Industry.
“It’s the diversity and forward-thinking nature of the group that positions Boxes and Packaging as a preferred supplier, qualities that without a doubt were recognised at the UK Packaging Awards last year,” said Gavin Richardson, CEO, Boxes and Packaging.
“In addition, to our ongoing investment programme, commitment to team welfare and development, and engagement in the wider packaging industry, our teams play a pivotal part in helping businesses choose corrugated as a packaging material and to reap the benefits associated with this.”
One team takes care of both Scottish sites, Boxshop and B&P (Dumbarton). All other sites are autonomously managed by their own teams, with a Regional Managing Director allocated for the North and a CEO for the group.
This allows each site to manage their own day to day operations and strategic future, whilst benefitting from being part of a larger group to share ideas and knowledge giving an enviable depth and resilience.
