Our 2022
20 Dec 2022
2022 has been another fantastic year for Boxes and Packaging.
Our teams have continued to provide exceptional packaging solutions and levels of service to our customers across the UK.
Perhaps the highlight of our year was being announced as winner of UK Packaging Company of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards. It was a real testament to all that we achieved in recent times and the commitment of our teams.
There has been lots of charity activity again during the year – Walk All Over Cancer was another great success. One of our team members walked over a million steps during the month which was another fantastic achievement.
We’ve said a few fond farewells to colleagues; Arnie at our Birmingham site retired after decades with the business as did Paul Fishlock, our Swindon, and the original, Boxes and Packaging Managing Director.
As with any new chapter, we welcomed new team members including Josh Stell as new MD at Swindon and many new colleagues to our teams across the UK including a new CEO for Logson Group, David Richardson.
In the spring Boxes and Packaging acquired Red Rose Packaging in Manchester and there has been plentiful investment in machinery and equipment across the group too. Just a few weeks ago, a large investment programme was announced at our sister company Boxshop, strengthening their position as the largest independent corrugated company in Scotland.
One of the most surreal occurrences of the year was the mention of the business on the Virgin Radio Chris Evans Breakfast Show.
As part of a Careers Fair, our Doncaster team had built a full size cardboard Lamborghini which caught the attention of car enthusiast, Chris. A few conversations later and all of a sudden, the team were on stand at Car Fest, hosting a pit stop wheel change challenge on a cardboard car! It raised over £2000 for charity though making it hugely worthwhile and a lot of fun too!
We’ve also been pleased to launch our updated Health and Safety strategy, We Make it Safe and to launch our Employee Assistance Programme to give added support to staff.
So that’s a whistle stop tour of 2022.
Early in the new year we’ll be sharing what we think the corrugated industry looks like for 2023, but for now, these are our memories of a superb year.
Thanks to all our colleagues, customers, friends, and followers.
