Birmingham team bid fond farewell to legendary team member

13 Oct 2022

An end of an era was marked by our Birmingham team recently as Aneel ‘Arnie’ Bhavsar, retired from the business after almost 35 years.

Arnie joined the business on 30th May 1988 when current MD Peter Gosling was just 11 years old, and when eight of his colleagues hadn’t even been born!

To mark the very special occasion, colleagues both past and present celebrated with Arnie at his leaving do last week which saw many people attend including John Rea, the MD who employed Arnie all those years ago.

Latterly, Arnie ran the Kirby Gluer at Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham) and has left an indelible mark on the business due to his infectious positivity and spirit.

Peter Gosling, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham) commented; “In these circumstances it’s usual to pass thanks for an employee’s hard work, and give fond wishes for a well-earned retirement. It is rare, however, for someone to have worked quite as hard as Arnie has, and to have earned it quite so much. His efforts leave a legacy he should be extremely proud of, and his character is one that will be missed by all.”

Arnie’s colleagues and friends organised a company photo, next to the Kirby, so that he could be given a framed copy as part of his leaving gift.

Arnie – everyone at Boxes and Packaging, especially your Birmingham colleagues, wish you all the very best for a long and happy retirement.
