Always time to do our bit

The Boxes and Packaging team is passionate about packaging, but we’ve got lots of team members who also find the time to do that little bit extra and raise money for charity.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, over £20,000 has still been raised by our team in 2021, which has been matched by our parent company taking the total to a little over £40,000.

Individuals have raised money for charities including Save the Children, Children in Need, Diabetes UK and SANDS, with two group challenges taking place as well. March saw nineteen members of the UK wide team raise over £8000 for Cancer Research UK when they Walked all over Cancer, and a similar amount was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support during the 125th Anniversary Dragon Boat Race that team Boxes and ‘Paddling’ took part in in Belfast in September.

“It’s been great to see so many people get involved and do their bit to raise money for charity and for the monies raised to be doubled by our charity matching scheme,” said Gavin Richardson, CEO, Boxes and Packaging. “We’d love to see more staff get involved next year and take on small personal challenges to raise vital funds for our charities that do so much for our communities.”

It is hoped in 2022 that a group fundraiser will also take place as well as individual events, site events, and national coffee mornings.
