All sites benefit from defibrillator installation

Earlier this year the decision was taken to ensure that a defibrillator was to be installed at all our sites across the UK.

This was to support the robust health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives that we have; adding defibrillators to our sites gave everyone access to a vital life saving tool. As a result, all the sites now either have the defibrillator fitted, or have a date before the end of the year for the installation to be carried out.

Mark Ryan, Group Health and Safety Manager commented; “We do everything we can to protect our staff and visitors to site and this vital piece of equipment can make a huge difference to anyone suffering a cardiac arrest. We hope that they are never required, however, we are very pleased that we have been able to make this important addition to health and safety equipment at each site.”

Whilst each site has a defibrillator fitted from different providers, all have one thing in common – the potential to save a life by giving a high energy shock to someone who is in cardiac arrest. And, with over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests taking place each year, and 9 out of 10 sadly proving fatal, the wider the network of defibrillators the better.
