New Dong Fang for Birmingham revolutionises site capacity

16 Nov 2021

Almost a year since our Leicester site reaped the benefits of a Dong Fang installation, our Birmingham site has added a Dong Fang Topra AD1632 to its machinery portfolio.

This 3.2m, three colour printer die-cutter replaced an ageing YSF, to bring added production capacity to the site and greater production efficiencies.

“We are delighted to have our Dong Fang up and running after a smooth and efficient installation by M&K Trading,” said Peter Gosling, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham). “It’s a great investment for our site, our team – who are so pleased to have a brand-new machine to work on – and it will play a significant part in our future as a preferred packaging supplier to so many businesses across the Midlands.”

The Dong Fang is ideally suited to many of the Logson sites, and this latest acquisition makes it the seventh in the Logson Group joining those at Boxes and Packaging Leicester, Doncaster, Manchester, Bristol, and two, at Jardin sites in Cambridge and Sutton

With improved efficiencies in terms of setting times and production capabilities, the new machine will assist in giving extra capacity to integrate into future growth plans for the site. Capable of handling a maximum sheet size of 3.2 metres, depending on the design, and 10,000 passes per hour, its capabilities suit the workload at Birmingham perfectly.

“Dong Fang offers great reliability, and we are looking forward to seeing what it can achieve and the additional capacity it will provide comes at just the right time as we approach peak.”  said Peter. “It will also allow us to continue to grow our customer base and offer bespoke packaging solutions to an even greater range of businesses.”
