Learning at Work Week
18 May 2021
Learning at Work week takes place in 2021 between 17th and 23rd May, and this year’s theme is ‘Made for Learning’.
It focuses on the human capacity to learn and has three key themes; Learning, Curiosity and Connecting; three key learning strategies no matter what your age and your learning situation.
During the last year there has been additional learning at work for many B&P employees alongside the mandatory training that many of our team take part in each year on a variety of subjects.
Also, during the last year, as an addition to our Make It Safe initiative, a Leadership programme has been launched to support managers, supervisors and team leaders appreciate the wider implications of Health and Safety in the workplace. In partnership with learning platform iHASCO, these team members learn how they can deliver these initiatives on a day-to-day basis with a continuous improvement vision.
Gavin Richardson, CEO, Boxes and Packaging commented; “Learning forms an important part of any job role and many of our staff learn on a continuous basis as their roles and situations evolve to ensure that they deliver the highest levels of service to our customers across all areas of the business. Supporting this with formal learning allows our staff to either reach mandatory requirements, such as Forklift Truck ongoing refresher training or, as per this latest training initiative, deliver a targeted message to key personnel to ensure the vision of the business is being communicated in a consistent and easy to understand way to all in the team.”
In addition to championing the importance of ongoing learning at work, the week is also hosting webinars for parents encouraging them to teach their children about learning at home and learning about money.
Learning at Work Week is delivered annually by the Campaign for Learning and is supported by a number of key learning, education and industry partners.
