Team B&P walking all over cancer this March
25 Feb 2021
The benefits of going for a good old walk have never been as important as they have in recent months as we have gone from lockdown to tiers, and lockdown again.
So, as part of our newly launched wellbeing and charity initiative, designed to support staff and encourage activity, we have signed up as a business to take part in Cancer Research’s Walk all over Cancer this March.
Each employee that agrees to take part will have to walk 10,000 steps each day in the month, something which we know many are already doing as they endeavour to keep or get fit whilst gyms, swimming pools and sports clubs are closed.
In addition, we’re asking them to fundraise for this incredibly important charity that will have seen its donations decrease as its usual fundraising efforts have been halted for the best part of a year. All monies raised will be charity matched by our parent company to a maximum of £10,000.
As an added incentive, the person who walks the most steps during the month, and the one who raises the most money during the month, will receive a prize; each person can enjoy a box of Hotel Chocolat luxury choccies, a bottle of Champagne and a £100 M&S gift card on us.
Gavin Richardson, CEO, Boxes and Packaging commented; “It’s really important that we continue to take good care of ourselves and if daily exercise hasn’t been part of your routine this is an ideal time to adopt a new regime and support Cancer Research. It’s just 10,000 steps for 31 days and together we can achieve something that will make a difference to people who are diagnosed with cancer and their families.”
