Board24 welcomes new MD

22 Jan 2021

The new year has brought a new Managing Director at our sister company, Board 24, as the business enters an exciting new phase in its history.

Dominic Drew officially took up his position at the start of the year, however he has been working closely with outgoing MD Richard McBride, who has retired, for most of 2020 to ensure the handover of the multi-million-pound business was seamless.

Dominic joins the business from a director role at one of the largest integrated groups in the UK and brings a 28-year career in packaging with him. He began as a technical engineer which was followed by an external sales role and MD of the D S Smith sheet plant sector to most recently, Sales and Market Development Director for the Industrial sector which incorporated 16 sites covering, Sheet Feeding, Sheet Plants and Heavy Duty businesses.

Whilst Dominic joined the Board24 team at somewhat challenging time as the country began its first lockdown, he has already put in place a clear directive for growth with the creation and implementation of five-year plans for each of the sites; Coalville, Preston and Larkhall. This will see productivity and capacity increase in due course, and will include staff-based initiatives for personal and career development.

Dominic commented; “I am excited to have joined Board24, which has built an excellent reputation in the marketplace and has an excellent team. I relish the challenge of leading the business into the next phase and, as business returns to more favourable practices, meeting all my team and customers in person.”

Away from the office Dominic enjoys staying healthy with regular gym sessions and dog walks. When restrictions are not in place, he can be found on the golf course or at the local pub, playing in the darts team. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
