Oxford – the city of dreaming spires, academics, and one of our Boxes and Packaging sites!

Situated midway between the Cotswolds and Chiltern Hills, our Oxford team take care of the packaging requirements of the South East of the country, stretching across London and as far down as the coastal regions of Kent.

Indeed, in the Garden of England and the South Downs, many of the UK’s wine producers choose the Oxford team to provide them with all aspects of their gift, display, and transit packaging. As patrons of Wine GB – the industry body for all vineyards across the UK – the team are well known, and well respected, for the quality of the service and the packaging that they offer to this ever-growing industry.

The 32,000 sq ft site is close to Thame and employs 26 people from the local community, many of whom have been with the business for many years including its current Managing Director, Jonathan Lewis. In fact, almost a third of the work force have over 20 years’ service and 60% with over 10 years’ service, making them a wonderfully experienced and close-knit team.

Originally based in Bourne End under its first ownership, the business moved to the Long Crendon site in 1996 as it transferred ownership to another corrugated group. It was acquired by the Logson Group in 2005 and became known as Boxes and Packaging (Oxford).

Whilst operating across all types of corrugated packaging solutions, the site has a particular reputation for its printed rotary die cut and flat bed die cut work. This is supported by a machinery portfolio of Maramatsu flat bed die cutters, a Dong Fang, and a range of finishing end equipment including tape applicators to facilitate the ecommerce market, for which the Oxford team has an ever-growing customer base.

“We have a superb and very experienced team at Boxes and Packaging (Oxford) and continue to expand our customer base across the South East of the country in a variety of market sectors including logistics, manufacturing and the UK drinks market,” said Jonathan Lewis, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Oxford) “This experience gives us considerable adaptability and flexibility to be able manage our customer portfolio right through from initial enquiry, through the design and specification process, and finishing with production and despatch.

“I have enjoyed seeing how the business has developed over the years and I look forward to continuing the next phase of its history as the ecommerce market evolves and changes the face of retail, and the sustainability of packaging continues to be a major consideration for so many businesses.”
