Oxford sponsors at first ‘virtual’ Wine GB awards

09 Sep 2020

It will take more than social distancing to keep the UK wine industry down, and as they begin to welcome visitors back to their vineyards and sales continue to prosper as more people choose to spend their money with UK based businesses, it seemed only fitting that the annual Wine GB awards would go ahead, undeterred, but virtually!

As in previous years our team at Boxes and Packaging (Oxford), who represent B&P in the wine industry and are well renowned for their bespoke packaging solutions, sponsored the Best Sparkling Rose Wine Award for the 2020 event.

The event which took place on 8th September awarded this particular accolade to Ashling Park Estate in West Sussex for its Sparkling Rose NV

“We are delighted to pledge our ongoing support to the annual Wine GB awards and offer our warmest congratulations to this year’s winners, the team at Ashling Park Estate,” said Jonathan Lewis, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Oxford). “Supporting this vital UK industry, which employs many people is incredibly important and, despite the challenges faced, this year’s event was still a complete success.”

Ashling Park Estate is nestled in 50 acres in the South Downs and is the family business of the Gardner family. It is on the cusp of opening for vineyard tours, tastes and overnight stays after recent events delayed their plans.

“Ashling Park is in a truly stunning location and this award will only serve to make everyone who enjoys fine wine, stunning scenery and fantastic customer service want to flock there,” said Jonathan. “It is so pleasing to see a UK based industry continue to grow and flourish and we wish them every success as an ever increasing number of people discover the delights of UK wine and appreciate what a part it plays in the economy.”
