Doncaster team supports career week

Hot on the heels of National Apprenticeship Week is Doncaster Careers Week – a series of events designed to make young people aware of career and employment opportunities in the Doncaster area and the expectations from them in the world of work.
Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) were proud to host a manufacturing careers event, where students, parents and teachers were invited to see the variety of careers available in manufacturing, which ranged from production operatives to health and safety, sales and senior level positions.
“We wanted to open our doors to show the people of Doncaster that manufacturing is a great industry to work in – one that is thriving and one that has lots of opportunities across all career disciplines,” said Stuart Clarke, Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster). “We have invested heavily in apprenticeships in the last few years and will announce further vacancies in the coming weeks after this year’s GCSE and A level examinations.”
Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) was also one of the sponsors at Opportunities Doncaster, a one day event where employers exhibited at the towns Racecourse and school children from both primary and secondary schools visited to gain a greater understanding of what work and careers look like in the town.
“Doncaster has some huge name employers that, together with small independents, provide a variety of careers options across all sectors,” said Stacey Austin, Regional Managing Director, Boxes and Packaging. “We will continue to invest in the future of our town where we have had a manufacturing operation for over 40 years and look forward to helping many more people discover what is great about Doncaster. The future of the town looks prosperous as investment and new ventures continue, and it is important for businesses and the area, that we encourage our young people to find work and careers in their home town.”
