Investment in Health and Safety continues
11 Nov 2019
Make it Safe – the health and safety vision of the Logson Group – continues to be forefront of our business operations at all our sites.
Across the Boxes and Packaging part of the group, considerable investment in personnel has been made over the last few months to facilitate the implementation of the vision, the continuous improvement approach and the processes associated with this.
“It is very pleasing to see members of the health and safety team across all our sites excelling at their roles and consolidating their knowledge with NEBOSH or NVQ training,” said Mark Ryan Logson Group Health and Safety Manager. “These posts at each site are critical to the delivery of the vision and they have been key in all the improvements that have been made.”
Working closely with the site Managing Directors to deliver the Health and Safety responsibilities they:
• Engage our employees in our Make It Safe vision and objectives
• Complete risk assessments and develop Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
• Complete incident investigations
• Deliver training
• Complete ASIs and manage the ASI schedule
• Attend site safety meetings
• Manage the implementation of the recommendations from our external H&S audits.
“Our Workplace Transport projects that have taken place this year have been successful thanks to the support of these key personnel and their growing confidence and competence has contributed to the improved performance of Boxes and Packaging from a Health and Safety perspective,” said Mark. “Most recently, they have all been trained as super-users for the new Health and Safety management system software and their continued input and development will be vital to achieve our goal of excelling in every aspect of our Health and Safety performance.”
