Doncaster boxes support soldiers campaign
12 Jul 2019
A man, local to our Doncaster site, is creating support packs for troops and has received the support of the Doncaster team who invited him to site to see the boxes being manufactured.
Philip Houghton, 23, who was unable to pursue a career in the armed forces decided to put his efforts into supporting the troops in other ways and has been raising money and asking for product donations to create care packs for the soldiers who are deployed overseas.
“We were delighted to support Philip and his campaign and to welcome him to our Doncaster factory to see the boxes flying off the production line,” said Stuart Clarke Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster). “We have assured him of our continued support and that, when the need arises, we will happily provide more boxes to allow his important work to continue.”
To raise additional funds to buy products for the packs Phil gave up sweets, chocolate and takeaways during March and raised £250 in sponsorship and has been calling on the support of businesses to donate products such as toiletries, phone chargers, sweet treats
The care packs are being created in conjunction with Support our Soldiers, a registered charity who provide additional support to the armed forces overseas and their families at home.
