Bumper wine production sparks increase in packaging demand
01 Apr 2019
The production of UK Wine soared by a staggering 160% in 2018 with over 15.6 million bottles leaving vineyards across the country.
Already working in partnership with many vineyards and other drinks producers across the South of England, our Oxford team showcased its packaging capabilities at a recent event – the Wine Symposium at Denbies Vineyard hosted by Rankin Brothers and Sparflex.
“This event was pre-dominantly aimed at the sparkling wine sector and showcased the entire packaging loop from bottles to corks to labels and of course, boxes, said Jonathan Lewis Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Oxford). “Such events are a great opportunity for us to highlight the versatility of corrugated in both protective, display and gift packaging and how we work with wine producers to create an on-brand, eye catching, yet practical solution.”
Attended by 23 vineyards from the local region the event has already generated new business enquiries for the Oxford team who support some of the most well-known English brands with their packaging requirements.
“The growth of the UK Wine sector is staggering, not only in terms of production but also consumer demand,” said Jonathan. “It is these consumers combined with the wine producers that are driving the desire for a quality product, packaged in a way that represents this quality and uniqueness and we are proud to be supporting this valuable and prosperous UK industry.”
