Annual Design Conference Brings Success for Oxford
29 Mar 2018
The annual design conference at Boxes and Packaging is always a close fought battle with the teams across the UK battling for the coveted ‘top spot’!
This year’s conference, which took place at the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster, saw the team at Oxford crowned as winners for their innovative approach to creating a chilled transport pack for the pharmaceutical market.
“The calibre of designs was once again hugely impressive and it is staggering to see the ways in which corrugated can fulfil such a wide range of customer briefs,” said Gavin Richardson CEO Boxes and Packaging (UK) Ltd. “This design from Stephen Connew in our Oxford team really did push the design boundaries and was a worthy winner.”
The Oxford team were closely followed by Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) for its festive packaging range for a drinks retailer designed by Adam Chorlton and Boxes and Packaging (Bristol) for its automotive sector transport pack designed by Paul Verstraeten. Both designs displayed creative flair in utilising corrugated in a variety of ways highlighting its flexibility and versatility.
“With our sites being scattered across the country events like this are very important so that we can share ideas and forge a UK wide, team spirit across our businesses,” said Gavin. “Once again it was hugely productive and will form the basis for our entries to both the UK Packaging Awards and Starpack of which we are advocates.
“The passion we all have for corrugated packaging and its capabilities was evident and we will continue to drive forward its place in supply chain solutions, creative designs and as a superb alternative to less environmentally friendly packaging components.”
