It may be Safetember but Fork Lift Safety is always a priority at B&P

Fork lift trucks are an essential part of our daily operations across all our Boxes and Packaging sites – without them even the most basic tasks of getting board to machines and loading and unloading vehicles would not be possible.
So, as the Fork Lift Truck Association celebrates ‘Safetember’ – it’s month long campaign of Fork Lift Truck safety and awareness – we thought we would share a few ways in which our own Fork Lift Truck policies form part of ‘Make It Safe’ our group wide health and safety pledge.
Dave Grainger Group Health, Safety and Environment Manager at Boxes and Packaging commented; “All machinery is covered by a robust health and safety policy and operational guidelines and Fork Lift Trucks are no exception. We work hard both at our individual sites and as a collective group to ensure training, maintenance and safety is always a priority.
“FLT’s are critical in many factory environments but require similar legislative procedures as larger vehicles,” said Dave. “We ensure that our staff, both operators and managers, remain competent and careful protecting their own safety and that of others in the workplace and that we can lead the way in ensuring FLT accidents, which are more common in the workplace than those associated with HGV’s, are eradicated through good policy and practice.”
