Innovative Packaging Range Deals with Weighty Issue

Cast Iron cookware can be rather weighty and finding a packaging solution that protects with strength and versatility was imperative to one customer at our Birmingham site.

Already an existing customer, for whom the Birmingham team had provided a variety of packaging solutions, it was necessary to re-develop and extend the packaging for a range of open fire cookware which would make packing the product easier and deliver cost benefits.

Our Birmingham design team created just one pack design which was adaptable for fifteen different products due to a range of internal fittings. This reduced storage for our client considerably and also made line side packing much more streamlined and efficient delivering cost savings both in material, production (only one cutting forme was needed) and packing.

The range of cookware which encompasses pans, skillets, griddle pans and hot pan stands is protected and delivered to stores or direct to the customer with ease – the versatility of corrugated coupled with innovative design solutions of the Boxes and Packaging team is highlighted once again.

As well as being entirely fit for purpose and robust, it was also important that the brand was communicated in the pack. Due to a large volume being distributed via courier the decision was taken to put the one colour logo on the inside of the lid so that when the pack was opened the brand was immediately visible.

Both client and customers have given entirely positive feedback resulting in another well executed project where a recyclable, robust packaging solution was created.
