The launch of our new Health and Safety logo ‘Make it Safe’ has only served to reinforce the positivity surrounding this topic within Boxes and Packaging. It’s a huge step forward and one that we hope inspires other businesses to shake off the negativity surrounding Health and Safety in the workplace and drive forward their own individual campaigns.
Dave Grainger, SHE Manager at Boxes and Packaging commented; “Awareness and education is critical to the success of Health and Safety policies and at Boxes and Packaging we ensure that everyone is aware of their responsibilities and the how they achieve this to keep themselves and other safe. The launch of our ‘Make it Safe’ logo and the continued efforts of myself in conjunction with our site Managing Directors and their teams has certainly had a positive impact.
“During my site visits, it’s encouraging to see new entrance Health and Safety signage in our corporate colours and branding which makes a very positive impact. There is also new Health and Safety signs posted giving information to HGV drivers and visitors, corporate signs being posted by machines containing risk assessments and safe systems of work and production statistics. It is all very encouraging and demonstrates to everyone just what a huge importance we place on such matters.”
As awareness continues to grow Dave works closely with everyone in the business to impart his expert knowledge and ensure every employee understands their responsibilities for their own and others safety.
“Every single person in a business should understand what their individual obligations are and that they need to adhere to this at all times, without question,” said Dave. “Indeed one sign, that I recall seeing many years ago in a washroom read – ‘This Person is Responsible for my Safety’ – This Person being the person looking back at me from the mirror, and yes, that’s you! So, next time you look in the mirror, take a minute to think what you can do to ensure you and your colleagues stay safe.
“If we all, in each and every sector of business and industry, adopt this ethos we can work together to make our workplaces safe and healthy.”
