Award Winning Design is a Hit with Customers

An innovative bottle pack design by our Boxes and Packaging (Bristol) team which claimed a Starpack award in 2016 is available for use across the food and beverage industry and has been incredibly well received.
Commended by Starpack for its ‘one-piece construction and minimal use of materials’ it ticks not only the packaging efficiency box but also benefits from design highlights such as a secure carry feature for product security.
“We encourage each of our sites to be innovative in their design solutions each year and are proud to be able to enter many to the annual Starpack awards and Boxes and Packaging Design and Innovation Awards and Conference,” said Gavin Richardson CEO Boxes and Packaging. “This design is typical of the creativity displayed by our teams and shows the versatility of such designs that can be adapted for other customers in each specific industry.”
The design moves away from the traditional three/four bottle in a row design choosing instead to group the bottles in a square (four bottles). And, as a result of its Starpack commendation and visibility to the group at the design conference, the groups Doncaster site was able to make subtle engineering changes to the design for a customer to enable craft beers to be sold to major online retailers.
“This only serves to highlight the importance of integration and sharing of ideas across our sites to ensure we deliver the very best packaging solutions to our customers throughout the UK,” said Gavin. “This particular pack has been adapted to suit 300ml, 500ml and 565ml bottles of both imported and UK manufactured craft beer and cider – a growth industry which shows no sign of slowing.”
Gavin concluded; “This design can support the drinks industry with packaging products which are the perfect juxtaposition of retail ready aesthetics and transport robustness giving our clients, and theirs, complete peace of mind.
