Developing Young Talent

01 Mar 2017

The 10th National Apprenticeship Week commences on 6th March 2017 and Boxes and Packaging is proud to support the Apprenticeship scheme at a number of its 13 UK sites.

Working in all areas of the business our apprentices fulfil key roles in administrative positons such as finance and customer service to more industry specific jobs such as warehousing, design and estimating.

“Apprentices play a significant part in our business and we are proud to actively support the scheme,” said Gavin Richardson CEO Boxes and Packaging. “In recent years we have nurtured some apprentices that have gone on to become valued members of our team and continue to develop their careers in the packaging industry with us.”

Boxes and Packaging offers its apprenticeships at varying levels of the scheme and encourages its apprentices to stay in their roles throughout the programme. This ensures that they acquire the necessary knowledge required for a full time permanent position within the business as well as other work place skills such as a strong work ethic and personal development in terms of confidence and social aptitude.

“Employing an apprentice is not just about teaching them the skills to do the job they have been employed to do, it is about equipping young people to learn about the world of work and how to interact with their peers and co-workers,” said Gavin. “Apprentices play an important part in our current business portfolio and we look forward to expanding the opportunities within the scheme as our growth continues.”
