Manchester Site ‘Sticks’ Together
29 Nov 2016
The ability to glue together our packaging solutions is of critical importance to all our sites, but our Manchester site was experiencing a particularly high volume of work which required investment in this area of its operations.
As a result a Lamina Crash Lock Gluer CLG 1812 was commissioned to meet the needs of customers, provide gluing flexibility and fulfil shorter lead times.
The compact gluer is a fully automatic folder gluer that is equipped with a non-stop suction belt feeder and a variety of guides and belts to handle standard one-point glued boxes or three-point glued crash lock boxes. Furthermore, set up times are as little as ten minutes with capabilities for 10,000 pieces per hour. The simple batch separation system makes it a very operator friendly machine and supports the site in improving it efficiencies and KPI’s.
“The Lamina gluer was particularly appealing due to its easy set up requirements and the ability to maintain high quality products whatever the quantity required,” said Gary Hargreaves Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Manchester). “The installation of the Lamina gluer has been a great success taking just three days to install and two days of training before the machine was fully operational. It will support us in our continued drive to increase our customer portfolio in the North West region.”
