Boxes and Packaging are Highly Commended at UK Packaging Awards

We were pleased to be rewarded with two ‘Highly Commended’ at the UK Packaging Awards 2016. The awards took place on 27 October at the Grosvenor House Hotel London. Trophies were handed to companies and individuals for the best products, services and achievements, chosen after much deliberation, by the judging panel.

The UK Packaging Awards has a category for all segments of the industry, from corrugated and flexible packaging to design and investment in equipment. Radio 4’s Alex Horne was host for the evening, assisted by Packaging News editor Philip Chadwick for the event which celebrated outstanding packaging in suitably fine style.

Our Merseyside site received a highly commended in the Corrugated Online Retail and Consumer Goods category for its Magiboard Pack and Oxford in the Corrugated Retail Ready and Point of Sale category for its Hambledon Champagne Pack.

The judging panel featured heads of packaging and senior packaging experts from a wide range of household-name brands and retailers, as well as consumer research, finance and business experts.

Judges comments include –

“Excellent use of packaging to reduce product damage and waste, with all the financial and environmental benefits that offers. Simple design, high quality board and great that it’s modular.” (Magiboard Pack)

“Beautifully presented and clever champagne pack. Space saving and attractive.” (Hambledon Champagne Pack)
