We’re Starpack Winners 2016!

We are delighted to announce that teams from three sites across the Boxes and Packaging Group have claimed two silver and two bronze commendations at the 2016 Starpack awards.

These awards represent our expertise and talent in creating packages in the industrial transit pack and drinks packaging categories, just two of several market sectors in which we operate.

Our Birmingham site received a silver award for a Triton Shower pack and a bronze for its Avery Berkel weighing scales pack; Doncaster a silver award for an automotive roof rails transit pack and Bristol, a bronze, for its Wiper and True bottle display and transit pack.

Judges comments included –

“Highly effective design utilising relatively small amounts of board. Creates compact, well-protected pack which is easily packed on production line.” (Triton Shower pack )

“Excellent use of tri-wall. Efficient packaging system, good protection and convenient loading and at assembly line. Very effective.” (Roof rails transit pack)

“An effective design that provides excellent protection of the delicate scale mechanism. Simple two-piece design that is easily constructed.” (Avery Berkel)

“Nicely executed. One-piece construction is a good minimal use of materials. Frugal but efficient branding. Secure carry feature. All round a competent pack.” (Wiper and True)

Starpack is the premier U.K. annual scheme recognising innovation in packaging design and technology. Organised by The Packaging Society, a division of IOM3, Starpack constitutes the UK packaging industry’s most prestigious awards, aiming to help raise packaging standards in the UK by rewarding and encouraging creativity.
