B&P (Birmingham) Win Internal Design and Innovation Competition

29 Jul 2016

Boxes and Packaging has once again completed its annual Design and Innovation Competition. Each site had the opportunity to enter up to three designs which they had produced and sold in the last 12 months. The annual competition brought together all the site Managing Directors and designers to present their design to the rest of the Group, who scored them based on a number of criteria including functional and graphic design, visual impact, environmental benefits, impact on sales and benefits to the customer. Entries were judged by colleagues from each site and winners were announced later in the day.

This year’s winner was Boxes and Packaging (Birmingham), with its design for Denso – an automotive components company. The new pack was designed to be shipped by road, rail, sea and air. The design provided a cost effective solution that securely protected products during transit overseas.

Pleasingly, a number of entries from the internal competition have been entered in to Starpack, and has resulted in winning four awards for designs from Birmingham, Doncaster and Bristol.

Boxes and Packaging CEO, Gavin Richardson highlighted the benefit of the competition; “This is a great opportunity for the designers to come together to show off their designs and allow peers and colleagues to see innovations that are being produced across the Group. It is the perfect opportunity for the Managing Director’s and designers to meet, share ideas and gain feedback from others.”
