Boxes and Packaging (Oxford) is well respected in the UK wine industry for its bespoke packaging solutions and it was a great privilege to be asked to sponsor one of the accolades at the recent Wine GB awards, the BAFTA equivalent for the wine industry.
The team sponsored the category of ‘Best Non Classic Blend’ at the awards which took place at the Vintners Hall, London on 23rd July.
“This is a very prestigious event for the UK wine industry which continues to grow and prosper,” said Jonathan Lewis Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Oxford). “We were delighted to show our support and present the award to a very worthy winner, as well as gain an acute appreciation for the size and magnitude of the UK wine industry and the great work that they are doing.”
Breaky Bottom Vineyard, which was established in 1974 and sits in the beautiful Sussex Downs, was the winner for its Cuvee Oliver Minkley 2011. Jonathan, together with wine connoisseur Oz Clarke and Susie Barrie MW, presented the Dudley Quirk trophy, sponsored by Boxes and Packaging, to Christina Hall from the vineyard.
“It is pleasing to see a UK based industry continue to grow and flourish as more vineyards open and those that have been established for many years, like Breaky Bottom, continue to produce award winning wines,” said Jonathan. “We look forward to supporting them for many years to come and sharing their pride in this impressive viticulture industry.”
