2019 Design Conference Winner
19 Mar 2019
Each March our designers and Managing Directors attend an annual conference to showcase the very best of their design work from the previous 12 months.
This year, the teams visited St Georges’ Park, home of English Football in Burton Upon Trent, to present their designs and the inspiration behind them to their peers and colleagues. The conference also forms the basis for the year’s entries into the Starpack and UK Packaging Awards of which Boxes and Packaging is an advocate.
“Design is a pivotal part of what we do in the process of supplying packaging solutions and we encourage our teams to be as creative and inspirational as practically possible,” said Gavin Richardson, CEO Boxes and Packaging. “This year’s entries once again highlighted the versatility of corrugated and the variety of sectors in which it can support such a far-reaching range of product and demand.”
This year’s winner was Bristol for its HEL Calliper Presentation Box which was created by Paul Verstraeten.
Highly commended was Oxford for its’ Advent Calendar Shipper created by Stephen Connew; Doncaster for its Radio Designs pack created by Adam Chorlton and Boxshop for a tray fitting which was commissioned by a leading retail based supermarket created by Matthew Storrie.
Gavin commented; “As corrugated packaging continues to be the primary choice for so many it is important to us that we continue to challenge our design abilities and create unusual, and also amazingly simple solutions from this fully recyclable material. Our warmest congratulations go to the Bristol team for winning and to for those that received a Highly Commended accreditation.”
