Why Corrugated Ticks All the Boxes

19 Apr 2017

Corrugated packaging is a growing sector as an increased number of businesses discover the benefits associated with this versatile method of protecting, displaying and transporting goods and products.

Renowned for its strength, corrugated packaging can be used to transport huge and very heavy items such as industrial automotive radiators across the globe. At the opposite end of the spectrum a high quality, high print point of sale box can be created showing the finesse and versatility of not only corrugated as a packaging material, but also the versatility and capabilities of our design teams.

One of the most appealing benefits that manufacturers are keen to capitalise on is its environmental credentials. The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) reports that on average 76% of recycled fibre is used in UK corrugated material, a statistic that our sister company Board24 knows only too well. Furthermore, an EU recycling rate 81.4% in 2015* positions paper packaging as one of the most recycled packaging materials.

“Clearly there is still a market for other types of packaging but as technology develops we are able to apply new techniques to corrugated to make it waterproof, maintain a constant temperature for products and many other innovative ideas ensuring we can create even more packaging solutions for our customers,” said Gareth Stell, Group Sales Director, Logson Group. “We urge those that currently use corrugated, and those that are yet to discover the benefits, to speak with their nearest Boxes and Packaging site to explore the options available to them.”

Whilst corrugated has not been associated with high specification solutions in the past, Boxes and Packaging continue to dispel this perception through design, innovation and service led solutions which provide tangible benefits to its customers.
