B&P (Merseyside) Win Internal Design Competition

15 Jun 2014

Boxes and Packaging have once again completed their annual Innovation Competition. Each site had the opportunity to enter up to three designs that they had produced and sold in the last 12 months.

The annual conference brings together all the site MDs and designers to present their design to the rest of the Group, who score them based on a number of criteria such as functional and graphic design, visual impact, environmental benefits, impact on sales, benefits to the customer etc. Entries were judged by the senior team and winners were later announced later in the day.

This year’s winner was Boxes and packaging Merseyside, with their design for Rhino Products Ltd which securely contained various components for a ladder roof rack system. Designer Chris Else, commented; “The new design presents the simplicity of a single folding fitment and outer pack for the entire pack content, moving from a multitude of packaging components for the original SafeStow. Each of the 20 components are housed within the single assembly, providing a simple and efficient packaging solution. From customer perspective, they were able to reduce associated manufacturing costs.”

Boxes and Packaging CEO, Gavin Richardson highlighted the benefit of the competition; “This is a great opportunity for the designers to come together to show off their designs and allow the other designers to see what innovations are being produced throughout the Group. It is the perfect opportunity for the MD’s and designers to meet share ideas and gain feedback from others.”
